Ultimate Perks

Consumers are lured by stores’ perk cards, a loyalty program in which shoppers earn points for their purchases. The more you buy, the more points you have which translate into various freebies and discounts. You are encouraged to spend more. The caveat is that you have to avail of the perks within a year, others within just three months.

But there is an ultimate loyalty program where the spiritual rewards are perennial as the grass, have no expiration date, and satisfies all cravings, hunger, thirsts, longings and desires. The mechanics are all in The Bible.

Listed here are around 21 of the innumerable perks for being righteous, quoted from the Holy Bible NIV:

1.    The righteous will flourish like a palm tree, they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon, planted in the house of the Lord, they will flourish in the courts of our God. They will still bear fruit in old age, they will stay fresh and green. (Psalm 92: 12-14)

2.    Righteousness delivers from death. (Proverbs 10:2)

3.    The Lord does not let the righteous go hungry. (Proverbs 10:3)

4.    Blessings crown the head of the righteous. (Proverbs 10:6)

5.    The memory of the righteous will be a blessing. (Proverbs 10:7)

6.    The mouth of the righteous is a fountain of life. (Proverbs 10:11)

7.    The wages of the righteous bring them life. (Proverbs 10:16)

8.    The tongue of the righteous is choice silver. (Proverbs 10:20)

9.    The lips of the righteous nourish many. (Proverbs 10:21)

10.  What the righteous desire will be granted. (Proverbs 10:24)

11.  The righteous stand firm forever. (Proverbs 10:25)

12.  The prospect of the righteous is joy. (Proverbs 10:28)

13.  The way of the Lord is a refuge for the righteous. (Proverbs 10:29)

14.  The mouth of the righteous brings forth wisdom. (Proverbs 10:31)

15.  The righteous will never be uprooted. (Proverbs 10:30)

16.  The lips of the righteous know what is fitting. (Proverbs 10:32)

17.  The Lord watches over the way of the righteous. (Psalm 1:6)

18.  The Lord blesses the righteous. (Psalm 5:12)

19.   His children will be mighty in the land, the generation of the upright will be blessed. (Psalm 112:2)

20. Wealth and riches are in his house and his righteousness endures forever. (Psalm 112:3)

21.  He will have no fear of bad news; his heart is steadfast, trusting in the Lord. (Psalm 112:7)

The fact is, none among us is righteous, all have sinned. But when we ask God’s forgiveness, He clothe us with His Son, Jesus Christ’s righteousness. The first step towards righteousness is pentimento (repentance). Then surrender life to The Savior, walk in  His light and freedom.  What follows is a long but exciting journey of trials and triumphs, wherein you will turn your worries into worship and your battles into blessings. Decide and act now to make that first step to begin the first day of the rest of your life. I myself did the same on 3 January 2010, several months after I survived breast cancer, by God’s grace. Since then, there are moments when I am sweetly burdened to share my rewards with others. Now is one of such moments, surely because someone like you need to take the path to pentimento and make a fresh beginning.
